SNACK COATING
Evenly coat snack foods with oil whilst reducing over misting, using the AutoJet Snack Coating Spray System. The experts at Spraying Systems Co. can ensure your products are coated correctly while reducing oil use and unnecessary clean up times.
Snack foods such as potato chips are typically coated with oil after they have left the oven and prior to seasoning. Accurate application of the oil is important. Too little oil and the seasoning will not stick to the product. This results in excess seasoning at the bottom of packets which many customers find unappealing. Too much oil results in the oil content exceeding what is stated on the packaging which is a regulatory issue. Customers also have issues with products that contain excess oil.
The AutoJet® Snack Coating Spray System consists of an AutoJet 2008 spray controller and PulsaJet® Automatic Spray Nozzlefitted with a low capacity VeeJet® spray tip. The nozzle is mounted onto a spray bar that sits inside the tumbler drum to ensure every piece is coated by the oiling system. The oil and seasoning are applied sequentially in the tumbler drum. The PulsaJet spray nozzle first applies canola oil which then allows for the seasoning to properly adhere to the snack foods.
Benefits:
- No misting or overspray due to the hydraulic spray nozzle used
- The application rate is accurately controlled with excellent uniformity and repeatability
- Altering the application rate can be achieved without the need to change the pressure of the spray nozzle.
- Simple installation and operation of the system
