PROBLEM

Rinc Bakery Systems partnered with Spraying Systems Co. to support a medium-sized bakery in the Netherlands that was oiling round baking pans by hand. Manual application led to variability: some pans received too much oil - causing stains on baked goods - while others received too little, which increased the risk of cakes sticking to the pans. The result was inconsistent product quality and unnecessary product rejection.

SOLUTION

To deliver a consistent, repeatable oil film on every pan, we supplied a compact, easy-to-maintain spray package consisting of a 5-liter pressure tank with quick-release couplings, an AutoJet® E250+ timing controller, and an automatic Air Atomizing spray nozzle fitted with a special fluid cap engineered for high-viscosity media such as thick oils and fats.

Before engineering the final configuration and quotation, we invited the customer to our local spray lab in the Netherlands, to perform an oil test. This session confirmed the correct nozzle fluid cap pairing, flow rate, and timing, ensuring clean edges, uniform coverage, and reliable release from the first day of production.

RESULTS

After commissioning, the bakery achieved a stable, uniform oil layer that improved cake release and eliminated the staining associated with over-application. Sticking events dropped markedly, which reduced product rejection and helped the customer convert more baked goods into saleable product - meeting the project’s primary goal of higher, more consistent quality. The transition away from manual greasing streamlined maintenance: pans needed cleaning less often, which cut water use and freed up operators’ time for other tasks. Fewer rejects reduced scrap-disposal costs, and improved process efficiency lowered energy consumption. Importantly, these gains were delivered without compromising throughput or finish quality, strengthening line reliability and day-to-day repeatability.

A CLOSER LOOK AT THE SYSTEM

The AutoJet® E250+ controller is your solution for basic timing control over air- and electrically-actuated spray nozzles. With 2 timing channels, each equipped for automatic spray nozzle/cylinder air outputs and atomizing air solenoid valve output, this intuitive interface allows for the control of up to 4 electrically-actuated spray nozzles.

Pressure Tanks available from 1l up to 20l sizes.
