Where Evaporative Cooling is Used
Our industrial evaporative cooling solutions are used anywhere precise air or gas temperature reduction can improve output, protect assets, or manage operating costs, including:
- Air coolers at data centers
- Air coolers at gas processing facilities
- Air coolers at LNG terminals
- Air coolers at refineries
Key Components of the System
Our evaporative cooling systems combine three core technologies into one integrated solution designed specifically for power and industrial cooling applications.
How the System Performs
In an evaporative cooling application, high-pressure water is delivered through the HP FogJet nozzles and atomized into a dense cloud of fine droplets within the air or gas stream. As these droplets evaporate, they absorb heat and reduce the temperature of the surrounding air. Because droplet size is carefully controlled, most of the water evaporates before reaching downstream equipment, maximizing cooling efficiency and minimizing liquid carryover.
The friction drill lances ensure that sprays are evenly distributed across the flow path to prevent hot spots and maintain consistent temperature profiles. This even distribution is especially important in gas turbine inlet cooling, where local temperature variations can affect turbine performance, and in process gas cooling where uneven temperatures can impact downstream treatment or filtration systems.
AutoJet controllers continuously monitor operating conditions and modulate the evaporative cooling system to match demand. On cooler days or at part load, spray output can be reduced or shut off in specific zones. As ambient temperatures climb or process loads increase, the system responds automatically, increasing spray volume to maintain the target temperature while still using only the water that is truly required.
Benefits for Your Plant
A well-applied evaporative cooling system from Spraying Systems Co. can help stabilize operation during high-temperature periods, increase power output or throughput, and protect critical equipment from overheating. By focusing on optimized droplet size, precise nozzle placement and automated control, our solutions deliver consistent, reliable and efficient cooling performance for power generation and industrial processes.
Many facilities also see measurable reductions in water consumption compared to manually operated or non-optimized spray systems. The combination of AutoJet control and efficient fluid distribution through friction drill lances supports better resource management, improved cooling tower and turbine performance, and long-term system reliability.
