Ways to Ensure Food Safety and Quality and Optimize Packaging Efficiency

Spray technology is used in many aspects of food packaging: food preparation prior to packaging for mold prevention, washing, sterilizing and packaging prior to filling, inserting product into containers, sealing, applying adhesives for label application, spraying protective agents on packages for transport and more. That's why we have an extensive line of spray nozzles and systems designed specifically to help you maintain quality, minimize waste and increase efficiency.

Some of our more widely used solutions include:

Automatic Spray Nozzles: PulsaJet®, VMAU Variable Spray and 22AUH Nozzles

  • PulsaJet and VMAU nozzles are ideal for applying a light coating of chemicals to baked goods and meat prior to packaging to ensure quality
    • Replaces manual application which improves application uniformity, minimizes coating waster and lowers labor costs
    • Optional SprayCheck™ sensors provide verification of proper product coating in every package
  • Hydraulic, air-actuated 220AUH nozzles are commonly used to fill containers with product
    • Accurate intermittent spraying reduces product waste
    • Designed for quick installation on spray manifold to help keep lines up and running

General Purpose Nozzles: FullJet® and WhirlJet® Nozzles

  • FullJet full cone nozzles are frequently mounted over tanks and vats to uniformly apply coatings to prevent product discoloration after packaging
  • WhirlJet hollow cone nozzles are widely used in warming processes to prevent condensation after filling

WindJet® Blower Air Knives

Removing excess liquid is often critical in many packaging applications and most drying applications rely on the use of costly compressed air. We have two solutions designed to lower air consumption without negatively impacting process effectiveness.

  • WindJet Blower Air Knives use a regenerative blower to produce clean, heated air and are ideal for use in larger areas where the conveyor is more than 2 ft. (.6 m) wide
  • WindJet Low-Flow Air Knives use very small amounts of compressed air to product a high-velocity, uniform air stream and operate at noise levels below 69 dBA. An efficient alternative to drilled pipes, Low-Flow Air Knives are well suited for conveyors less than 2 ft. (.6 m) wide.
